Finally

Ok, so I am still failing to keep up with this blog, so here are just a couple of pictures of some (kind of) recently finished projects. I'll start with what is probably my favorite: the crab I made my dad for Christmas.

He is from a pattern purchased at http://www.ravelry.com/ In the end I think I spent about 20 hours on him...so glad he was worth it!

This next one was just for fun. I made it for my boyfriend to give to his cousin. They have a long standing Christmas tradition, where she sends him the, "I want a hippopatamus for Christmas" song, and he gets her some sort of hippo present. I was glad to be able to help this year...

This was a super easy pattern, and I think it turned out pretty cute, and from what I heard, it was well recieved.

I'm having some trouble with putting up pictures, so I will call it quits for now, and work REALLY hard at posting a few more soon, soon, soon.

Forever

I am the worst blogger EVER! It has almost been two months now, and I am way behind on posting projects. I didn't post any of them for a while because they had to be kept secret until Christmas, but now that it is over, I have no excuse.
I am however, going to delay posting one more time because today I have to get ready for the first day of winter term classes. Before it seems like this post is pointless, I wanted to tell you about my recent stash growth.
A few months ago, my great aunt, who was a knitter, passed away. I am currently the only one in the family who is an avid knitter, so I recieved a large amount of yarn. I wanted to do something meaningful with it, instead of having it sit, waiting for the right project, so I have decided to tackle a Granny Square Afghan. I decided on this specific project because I have always wanted to make a Granny Square, and my great aunt herself made a few. And the thing that will really make this afghan special, is the single granny square made by my great aunt, that will be the center of the afghan.

A First

A few months ago I would have said I would never get a blog. I have been converted. I hope to use this blog to post my knitting projects. Either completed, or in the works. Ultimately I want to use this space to post my own pattern creations, but that is going to take some time.
Currently I have two projects cast on. The first is a mystery knit along, compliments of Wolly Wormhead and ravelry.com. The first part of the pattern came out on Nov 1st, and I am hoping to be caught up by the 9th, for the second installment. The other project I have started is the first of five hats I am knitting for various family members and friends for Christmas. I figure if I start now, I just might get done on time. As soon as I get to my camera I will take pictures and post them here.
